Come meet the horses who call Sweet Rock Stables home, and get a taste of Horse Barn Life. We can have the party horses clean, saddled and ready for your guests to ride as your group arrives at the barn. Everyone is welcome to tour the barn and meet all the horses. Many of the horses at Sweet Rock Stables are registered American Morgan Horses who absolutely love attention! We also have a miniature horse with a big personality who would be thrilled to meet you; plus he’s great for people intimidated by “regular sized” horses.
All parties:
We supply:
- 2 – 4 Horses for your guests to ride
- 2 – 4 Experienced handlers to help your guests ride (one handler per horse)
- We have ASTM/SEI approved riding safety helmets of all sizes, but you may also bring your own ASTM/SEI approved riding helmet(s)
- Picnic tables and space to accommodate guests and decorations
- Indoor riding arena
- Modern, indoor bathroom (a luxury at a horse barn!!!) with hot & cold running water
- Refrigerator/freezer space
- Space to accommodate any extra chairs, tables, and guests you bring
- Indoor space for your party during inclement weather (No rain dates needed!!!)
- Safe, off-road site
- An experience at a working horse farm recognized as a Maryland Horse Discovery Center
You supply:
- Party decorations, plates, bowls, napkins, and cutlery as needed
- Food, cake, ice cream, drinks – whatever you’d like!

- Guests!
- (Optional) Treats for the horses: our horses love to gobble mini carrots and/or cut up apples
Extras:
- $50 – All guests can brush and decorate our Miniature Horse “Moe”
- $30 – Gas grill rental

Enjoy our horses safely:
- All riders at Sweet Rock Stables must wear an ASTM/SEI approved safety riding helmet. We have riding helmets for all sizes, and there is no cost to borrow them to ride our horses.
- Riders should wear long pants and boots (highly recommended) or sturdy shoes with about a 1″ heel. No sandals or flip-flops!!!
- Every rider at Sweet Rock Stables must complete a release form before riding. A parent or legal guardian must sign this form if the rider is a minor. We can send forms to the hosting family several weeks before the party for completion, or you can download forms here to print at home. Please bring the completed forms with you to your party.
Young Riders Parties (Recommended for ages 7 – 12)
Horses have a way of bringing smiles to children, and we’re sure your child and their guests will have a party to remember at our farm!

Teen Riders Parties (Recommended for ages 13+)
Just because we all grow older doesn’t mean that we can’t enjoy partying with horses! A Teen Riders Party offers a small group of friends a more involved experience with the horses than our Young Riders Parties offer. Your party can host up to four riders, and each guest will receive a horse care and riding lesson:
